Ms. Ziemba has worked as a consultant to various medical tourism businesses, nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies, focusing on developing and implementing marketing and market research as well as customer-service solutions.
As a skilled writer, she has published extensively on various business topics including medical tourism and uses her writing abilities to oversee course content development for the company. Her focus on practical solutions based on years of business experience provide tangible benefits to the company’s clients. A leader in the field of international patient services and medical tourism, Margaret Ball brings to our clients her experience at Baylor University Medical Center Dallas, including serving as Director of International Services. Ms. Ball has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of bringing foreign patients to the U.S., including business development, working with embassies, international insurance companies, hotels and developing relationships with a wide range of hospitals and physicians.
Her accomplishments in the international patient services sector that focused on increasing revenue as well as the total number of international patients include:
• Workd with interdisciplinary team to design all inclusive cardiac and orthopedic packages • Create a “Second Opinion and Telemedicine” program for international patients • Collaborate with the Chamber of Commerce, airlines, hotels and hospital to promote the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area for tourism and executive checkups.

Margaret is the founder of Health Links International, a Dallas based firm established in 2006, providing consulting services for the medical tourism industry and international health infrastructure projects. International health travel projects have included consultations with hospitals and health care providers in Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, Jordan, Turkey, and the Dominican Republic.
Ms. Ball speaks fluent Spanish, is a graduate of Austin College and studied at the University of Valencia, Spain.

Irving StackpoleConsulting Expert Marketing and Market Research, Organizational Development
Utilizing over thirty five years of experience in the health care sector, Irving Stackpole is President of Stackpole & Associates , a team of consultants who design and deliver market research, customer service and sales training, and marketing services to healthcare, senior living and human service organizations throughout the United States and internationally.
His clients include an extensive list of medical tourism organizations including professional associations, government organizations, health care providers, developers, facilitators, and more. Dr. Sharon F. Kleefield, a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, provides consulting, education, and training in strategic planning, quality management, performance measurement, patient safety, risk management, and accreditation preparation to health care systems and hospitals around the world.
Dr. Kleefield has extensive experience in the design and implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) management programs for hospitals and health care systems. Prior to joining Harvard Medical International, she was Director of Care Improvement at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a 720-bed Harvard affiliated teaching hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kleefield has held positions in professional staff development and quality management as well as several teaching positions at Harvard University, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Medical School.
Sharon has taught, consulted, and trained physicians, hospital administrators, and other medical professionals around the world including Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Greece, India, Italy, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and the UAE. In addition to numerous peer-reviewed journal publications, she obtained her PhD in Medical Ethics from Boston University. Dr. Kleefield’s education, experience, and substantial professional accomplishments, she is clearly a global leader in quality management, patient safety, risk management, and related sectors.
Pamela FrankConsulting Expert International Patient Services
As a leader in the field of international patient services, Pamela Frank has been Director of International Health Services at Children’s Hospital and Tufts Medical Center, both located in Boston, Massachusetts.
While in those positions, she was responsible for the international strategic alliances with governments, healthcare institutions, and insurers while overseeing multi-million dollar budgets. Her knowledge and experience of developing and managing international patient departments is based on her successes at these leading medical institutions.

Kari HeistadConsulting Expert Cross-Cultural Training and Consulting
Kari Heistad, founder and CEO of Culture Coach International, is an expert in training and consulting in the field of cultural diversity issues with a particular focus on health care related challenges. Kari and her team work with health care providers including medical tourism organizations to help them to understand and manage all aspects of the provider – patient dynamic to create culturally competent work places. She understands that providers can realize costs savings when culturally competent care is provided.

Maria Maldonado-Pareja Consulting Expert and Trainer, International Patient Services
Maria Maldonado, an expert in global healthcare and medical tourism has over twenty years of experience working with medical facilities, practitioners and manufacturers around the world. The daughter of a notable Spanish orthopedic surgeon, Maria realized early on that her career path would follow her father’s into the medical field. She pursued specialized training in audiology and developed treatments for tinnitus, which were performed, at her four clinics in Portugal.
In 2013, she completed an EMBA at Hult International Business School in London.
Maria has worked in many countries and was surprised to learn patients had long waiting lists and extreme out-of-pocket costs to get critical surgeries performed–even in areas with good medical care. It was at that point she decided to focus her career on connecting patients with the best surgical providers in other countries that could perform services sooner and less expensively. She founded Trip4Care, a company that offers medical travelers access to high quality providers while ensuring that the patient experience is tailored to the patient’s needs from initial contact to post-discharge follow up.
Maria’s experience in travel and mastery of several languages enables her to communicate with prospective patients and negotiate with the world’s best hospitals and medical facilities to provide the best possible care for her clients.
Ms. Maldonado-Pareja joins the Medical Tourism Training team as a trainer as well as consultant to our clients. She is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English as well as conversational in French. Maria is married with two children and her family lives in Minneapolis and spends time in Portugal and Spain.
Stephen Calhoun e-Learning Developer
Building on his eight years of experience as an Instructional Developer and Technical Writer, Stephen Calhoun provides Medical Tourism Training and its clients with the technical know-how to design, create, implement and host the company’s online training programs. Whether working on our company’s training content or providing those services for our clients who want custom training programs designed for their use, Stephen accesses his skills and experience in eLearning, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Mobile Training, LMS Administration using software including Articulate (Storyline, Studio), Adobe (Captivate, Flash, Photoshop, InDesign, Presenter), Camtasia, Lectora, SAP Workforce Performance Builder, and CodeBaby among others.
Mr. Calhoun’s clients include Walmart, Wells Fargo, Motorola, and his favorite client, Medical Tourism Training. He is a graduate of Malone University in Canton, Ohio. Stephen has four young children and a lovely wife, all of whom enjoy being active and outdoors.
